Do Detox
Smoothies Work?

Most physicians would tell you that the human body can ‘detoxify’ on its own under normal circumstances. That’s one of the basic functions of our liver, kidneys, and lungs – to filter out stuff that our body doesn’t need. So what are detox recipes for? Detox smoothies and drinks are like assistants to your body’s cleansing. According to an academic review in the Journal of Human Nutrition and Dietetics, “a handful of clinical studies have shown that commercial detox diets enhance liver detoxification and eliminate persistent organic pollutants from the body.”

So how do detox smoothies work? Let us count the ways:
       • Detox foods are made of fruits and vegetables, which provide clean, natural nourishment to the body.
       • When you replace your sugary sweets and junk food with detox smoothies, you avoid overwhelming                      your liver and other organs with unhealthy ingredients.
       • Fruits and vegetables in smoothies are also packed with dietary fiber, which helps cleanse our bowels,                    lower cholesterol, and lower blood sugar.
       • Fiber also gives you that full feeling, so you can eat less and achieve a healthy weight.
       • Adding psyllium husk increases the amount of fiber and helps keep you full while improving digestion.
      • When you add virgin coconut oil (VCO) to your smoothie, you boost its antiviral and anti-inflammatory                   power. Yes, VCO fights viruses! Use Made Mindful VCO to ensure it’s high-quality, organic, and                           most of all, FDA-approved. There’s no secret ingredient here. The detox smoothie recipes below                             use natural ingredients and are so easy to make. Let’s start!
